Guadalupe Center

This is a non-profit organization located on the grounds of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Immokalee.

The center provides a soup kitchen five days a week.  In addition those in need have access to showers and clean clothing three days a week.  Daycare for infants through pre school is provided, as well as after school tutoring for grades K-4.

The Chapel aids the mission monetarily as well as volunteers who work in the Soup Kitchen.

Chapel  also sponsors the collection of Christmas toys for the children of Immokalee who are from mostly migrant worker families.  The toys are distributed to families with children ages birth through high school by the Guadalupe Center and Friendship House.  The Center stresses non-violent toys and teaches peace education, that is to be helpful not hurtful, to both children and parents.

Back to School Shoes Program

Guadalupe Center of Immokalee invites you to be a part of the mission to break the cycle of poverty through education.  Every year children in Immokalee walk to school with shoes in appalling disrepair or several sizes too small.  For the past 13 years in August, the Guadalupe Center has held it's "Back to School Shoes Program," providing 350 children with proper shoes to begin the school.  For $25 per child, you can be a part of making a difference for these children.  This act of kindness and compassion on your part can make a significant difference in the life of a child.  Contributions to the program can be sent directly to: Guadalupe Center of Immokalee, 509 Hope Circle, Immokalee, Florida 34142 - Attention-Back to School Shoes program.  Any questions about this program or any of Guadalupe Center's programs can be directed to either Claudia Polzin, Vice-President of Development (657.1720) or Tricia Yeggy, Director of Client Services (657.3202).

On behalf of the children of Immokalee, thank you for your consideration.
