PRAYER OF CONFESSION    (Unison)

Gracious Lord, none of us here are righteous.  Not a single one of us is without sin.  We have all fallen astray.  We have failed to love You.  We have failed to love one another.  But Your Holy Spirit draws us to be restless, giving us a desire to find our rest in You.  So we turn to You and ask You to forgive us, free us from our sins, and fill us with Your Spirit.  In the name of Christ we pray, Amen.

ASSURANCE OF Pardon                                                               From Romans 5

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father in Heaven, holy is Your name.

Your kingdom come, Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins, as we forgive others.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory.  Amen

RESPONSE TO THE WORD OF GOD

*affIRMATION OF FAITH (Unison)                                            The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

SERVICE for WHOLENESS: TODAY, immediately following the worship service, there will be a short service which includes prayer and intercessions for healing.  Physical, psychological, mental, spiritual, and relational problems all need to be healed in order to find wholeness and fully respond to God’s love for us.  If you don’t need special prayer, you may stay and pray for others.

THE SEW & SEWS will meet the next two Thursdays, July 22 and 29.  They will not be meeting in the month of August.

WE WELCOME PASTOR MAYNARD back to the pulpit today. Hopefully he had a relaxing vacation and an enlightening time at Presbyterian General Assembly while he was away.

TERMITE “EVIDENCE” was found again in our Sanctuary this week. Treatment for these unique creatures of God is on on-going (and expensive) process here at Chapel.
