CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION    (Unison)

God of mercy, we confess to You that we have not been obedient to Your will.  We have seen the needs of our neighbors, but we have not worked for justice in our communities.  We have failed to treat others with love and mercy.  We have treated our neighbors with arrogance, thinking more about our own needs than for them.  Forgive us, dear Lord.  Help us to see beyond ourselves and to see the needs of others.  Teach us what it means to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with You.  In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen.

ASSURANCE OF Pardon

*GLORIA PATRI

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen, Amen.

*affIRMATION OF FAITH (Unison)

We believe in God the Creator.

God made the earth, the sun and all the stars of heaven.

God made things we see, and things we cannot see.

God maintains this ever changing universe.

We believe in Jesus Christ the Savior.

Christ was born of the Virgin Mary.

Christ lived, taught his disciples, was betrayed, and put to death.

Christ was buried but rose from the grave.

Christ lives again for us and for our salvation.

Through the death and resurrection of Christ, salvation is made possible.

We believe in the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit is the Lord and Giver of Life.

The Spirit comforts us and guides us.

            The Spirit empowers the church

Chapel by the Sea is dependent on the generosity of those who worship with us.  Vacationers, visitors, seasonal members and year-round members all work together to contribute to the ministries of our church.

Chapel by the Sea is a church for the community.  The building we provide is used for our members, friends and visitors as a place for worship and study – but it is also used for the whole island community.  Bay Oaks Recreational Center, Weight Watchers, Alcoholics Anonymous, Boy Scouts and many other organizations depend on Chapel to provide a safe place to meet.

Chapel by the Sea is a church for the community.  Every day, Monday through Friday, those who need a free breakfast, fellowship, medical assistance, showers, and clothing are able to come to our God’s Table to find help.

Chapel by the Sea is a church for the community.  We organize and assist mission work with Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life’s cancer-related fund raisers, migrant ministries in Immokalee, and so much more!

Chapel by the Sea is a church for the community.  All of our children and youth programs are Christ-focused, but designed to be ecumenical in nature so that kids from smaller churches on our island can enjoy and grow in our youth programs.  Our music concerts are open to everyone in our community.  We serve our neighbors through weddings, funerals, parish nursing and pastoral care.

With your generous help, Chapel by the Sea can continue to serve God through Christ and be a church for the whole community.
